David was in charge of the drill team pledge program when I joined in 1977.  The drill team used to run a concession stand in Beaver Stadium to raise money for the drill team meet travelling expenses.  I was helping out in the stand in the Fall of 1981 after I graduated, visiting some former teammates before going on active duty, and I recall he stopped by the concession stand to see if he recognized anyone - I may have been the only one he knew since everyone else would've started school the year after he graduated.  I saw a profile of his a few years ago, maybe on Facebook or LinkedIn, I think before he passed away, that said he was involved in real estate. David was a good guy and alway upbeat. He enjoyed broadway shows and when you pledged teh drill team there was a manual of things we had to memorize.  One item was a song with the lyrics customized to Penn State and sung to the tune of a song from South Pacific, "We ain't got dames".
